Who We Are
MMI has a deep-rooted history and heritage that spans over a century.
MMI’s story begins over a century ago with the founding of Gray Paul & Co. in 1860s Basra, a thriving port city on the Persian Gulf. At a time when the Middle East was considered a distant outpost in global trade, we saw opportunity in the growing flow of goods along the ancient Spice Routes – where commerce, culture, and connection converged.
Driven by a pioneering spirit, MMI relocated to Dubai in 1916 to be closer to the region’s future. That move laid the foundation for what MMI would become: a trusted name in regional trade and, later, a world-class beverage distributor and retailer. In 2000, we proudly joined the Emirates Group, further strengthening our commitment to excellence.
